Safe to say at this point we will have to wait. Man, I had that upgrade waiting. But then again, what's another three months to wait from the usual release date?

You and Westside_guy should get together...see post #24 in this thread. Then go see post #27.
#24 HAHAHA !
I was aware of the link in post #27, that's why I thought it was an unveiling of the tricky little macrumors feature.

Did ye all not read the report. The whole point is that it is a "Proximity sensor" . That it can detect your gestures while "spaced away" from the ipod. This would be no big deal if it required rubbing your greasy fingers all over the display!! Yes and it states "a touch screen display" "For multifunctional handheld devices".
"The method includes sensing an object spaced away and in close proximity to the electronic device. The method also includes performing an action in the electronic device when an object is sensed." Meaning when I'm close to touching the darn thing do/show this when this is happening on screen.
Did you read it?
http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/part_1_apple_files_proximity_detector_in_handheld_device_patent_application/
EDIT: Still not "touchless" either....
"For example, when using a touch sensing device along with a proximity detection system, advanced gestures may be performed that combine proximity gestures along with touch gestures."

On another note - wouldn't you hate to be an Apple content developer? You're working hard, just finishing up on a new piece of code... hoping there aren't any errors.

[mDeviceList addObject @"ix.Mac.MarketingName"];
...
You put it live, relax, sit back, check out some RSS feeds for a break. The first item:
"What is ix.Mac.MarketingName and what does it mean for Apple's future plans?" Aiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeee!

I think "cali" is acceptable.
It is if you're LL Cool J or you're from New York in the '80's and clueless.
Otherwise, No.
No one calls Florida, "Flo" or Illinois "Illy"

As expected.
Yep. As an added bonus, LTE networks might actually be available in more than select locations sometime around launch. They're not missing much this year.
Not sure I understand, I've had 4G on my Evo for over a year now...
Hrm....
The "4G" on your Evo is WiMax, a completely different standard being pushed by Clearwire and supported by Sprint. It allowed Sprint to get a "4G" network up and running fairly quickly, but it's likely to be dead-ended with the proliferation of LTE and/or Clearwire blowing through its venture capital. Sprint's CEO has already said they'd be open to switching over to LTE in the future, which they really should do or end up being left behind in a similar way to their CDMA situation (except without Verizon to back them up).

Am very happy with the RAM but OMG, is it expensive (590 in Belgium)
Bought it anyways. Would like to find out if I swap that second dimm out for a 2GB, would it run at 4GB of RAM? Any takers?
I dont think so the iMac only supports upto 3gb of ram because of the chipset it uses and i think the macbookpro now uses the same chipset..

I'll only upgrade if this fixed the ****** animation glitches and battery drain. 4.3 h been a nightmare and the first update to it certainly didn't fix much. I'll wait for a report.

Yeah while Apple realizes people want their mobile smartphone to be small and portable as that is a key part of the puzzle the rest of the industry is trying to duplicate this:

with a touch screen.
There can only be one Michael Douglas.

Sure we are all making jokes about Sheen and his antics. Lets not forget 2 other notable comedians that were huge drug users that showed warning signs, Chris Farley and John Belushi. Sheen is in huge denial and will most likely kill himself at some point.

+1 for TB "Target disk mode"! I am happy they kept FW800 on the newest MBPs though.
Anyone think TB will be eventually used for connecting things like cameras as well?
Canon will use it for DV.

And yet prices in the Australian Apple Store are still 25% higher than the USA Store. How rude, Apple.
Top end 27" iMac = US$1999, or in the Australian Store, AUD$2299 which at the current exchange rate is about US$2500. Why should we pay more, Apple? If anything, we're closer to China so should pay less on shipping!
Whilst it's slightly better than yesterdays prices, I'm still seriously not happy.
I'd buy one if we got the USA prices.
*sigh* Every time someone makes this mistake...
Bear in mind that the US prices do not include sales tax of any kind. In your case Australian prices include GST which I believe currently runs at 10%? If you're anything like the UK there may be additional import taxes to pay and the cost of doing business is likely to be higher (everything from shipping costs to salaries affect the price you pay at the checkout). Add in a margain that Apple will calculate to protect themselves from changes in the exchange rate and you'll probably be very close to price parity. Just as in the UK you're paying extra for the product because of the country, not because of Apple.
That's not to say Apple DON'T screw up on exchange rates and gouge the heck out of us non-Americans of course. The Mac Mini being the most recent, and painful, example. But you need to make sure you compare like for like before complaining.

Here in Phoenix I have not had too many issues. i get full strength signal most of the time and almost always 3g. however there are a few places i have that and still cannot get data, luckily its not often, and usually its in the evening which is probably heavy usage times.
East side of the Phoenix and the outlying areas are terrible. This thing is a brick often! I actually keep old reliable verizon around in case of emergency. Still, the iPhone rocks and I'll just keep it till they open it up to Verizon too!
AT&T sucks!

Call me crazy, but I'd not be surprised if Leopard was a free update for Tiger owners - if not all Mac owners. A great way to steal a good bit of Vista's thunder and address those absurd "Mac OS costs $5000 if you've bought every version and Windows only costs $100" complaints.

Very odd not to vote for the next highest vote getter to save yourself. Even if he is a fellow wolf.
In this game there is a kamikaze and a infectious wolf. Strategy plays a part when they can control who gets lynched.

ya no,
any rumors on hspa+?
The Gobi chip in the verizon iphone 4 supports it. If they use that for a universal iphone 5, the question is whether apple/at&t enables it.

I personally believe these days that the look of the phone comes secondary to what is "under the hood".
Yes it helps if it's a good shape with a good screen but if Apple continue to release devices that a technically better the the rest then people will lap it up - the death grip didnt stop so many iPhone 4s being sold did it - people accepted it as the device packed a punch
People buy iPhones because they work well, look good, and are cool/in. I would say that 80% of the iPhone buying world doesn't give a damn what's "under the hood." I fail to see how you could possibly think otherwise.
